Performing & Visual Arts

Through a variety of artistic activities, including acting, pantomime, music, painting and dancing, children learn how to demonstrate their emotions in a positive way—expressing their daily hardships in their performances. They develop their creative minds, become more self-confident, and embrace the values of self-acceptance and others’ acceptance, as well as respect for differences.

Increasing Child Confidence Through Art

EXCERPT OF SOS CHILDREN'S VILLAGES ARTICLE — November 13, 2018

Eight years ago, Doaa struggled with a speech impediment. People could not understand her when she spoke.

But that changed after she joined a unique theater group SOS Children’s Villages Egypt [now known as Harakat for the Performing Arts]. Through acting classes, she was able to overcome her speech impediment and today is a trainer for the group.
